Artist Bio

Tamaz Kharitonashvili was born in 1975, in Republic of Georgia.

Parents:

Father- Mikheil Kharitonashvili(Patronymic Levani), an author of some poetic and prose anthology. Mother -Tamara Kharitonashvili(Patronymuc Aleksi), chemist by profession, she is a business-woman now.

Thomaz Kharitonashvili was a lively, active, resourceful personality since his childhood.

In 1982 he began to study in Secondary School N4 of Rustavi City. When he was 12 years old he was admitted in Children's Art of Rustavu where he spent four years. He was interested in such special subjects as painting, drawing, composition, guided by the pedagogues Giorgi Chaladze and Nodar Andriadze.

In 1991 Tamaz and his brother Kakhaber were taken in Tbilisi Iakob Nikoladze Art specialized School which had lasting, realistic traditions. The school actively used as new methods of Fine Arts studying as traditional methodology, that had on optimum affect on the formation of the pupils. This methodology gave Tamaz Kharitonashvili an opportunity to show his faculties that had positive results.

It should be noted in the period of great changes taking place in the country. When Georgia gain its independence, some political forces opposed each other that resulted in difficult economic and social situation in the Republic. This powerfully influenced the young men being in the process of spiritual formation, his creative activity. If at the beginning of the studying the lyricism where typical of Tamaz , by the completion of the studying it was appeared dramatic and tense mood. The interest of that so surrealistic art was distinctly shown.

As experienced pedagogues artists IRA Bezhanishvili and Avtandil Shengelia ask creative Spirit of the school played an important part in the development and formation of Tamaz Kharitonashvili's future talents.

The 1995 Tamaz Kharitonashvili successfully graduated from the Iakob Nikoladze Art School and he was conferred a pedagogue- artist title.

Because of the fickle economic situation the young artist had to go to Greece in 1996 work he began to work in a private artistic studio. He created a lot of Works gaining attention and he sold them and got money to live on. In 1997 he returned to Georgia.

In 1999, August two brothers young artist possessed of great creative potential, Tamaz and Kakhaber Kharitonashvili, left for the United States of America New York City where they live and create their works now.
